I like going to different music sites, each having something different I like. I came across a fairly new site called BumpItorDumpIt.com. The site is in beta but they are allowing new members to sign up and use the site wile they continue to develop it. I have to say their concept is amazing and they have artists and bands from all over the world signing up; I listened to a metal band from Indonesia the other day that blow my mind. Compared to some of the other sites out there they still need to add a bunch of features they don't have yet but it's definitive worth checking out and watching to see where it go's.

There's a new one that just came out that has EVERYTHING. Artistir.com. It's like a combo of Facebook and everything above. Really worth checking out. You create a personal profile and can add your band under it. You can also link the band profile with each member's personal account. Plus you can have multiple bands or your own solo music profile accessible from your own personal account. There's a forum to find other musicians to start bands with. You can put your music up for free to stream or download. I think you can even sell singles and albums through it. It just started but its got huge potential.

I think new indie artists should definitely take a look at some of the up and coming sites. I figure that the first adopters of these sites will probably be sitting in a good position if they take off. For example, take a look at www.artistir.com. Not many people on there yet, but that's why jumping in now would be a good idea. They have all of the tools that you need to distribute and expose music. It's different, too, so it might have the chance to catch on.

To reiterate, Artistir, looks to be a pretty strong up and comer. I'm on there. They have a nice standalone music player, too.
